Acrylic on board - 16cm x 16cm
2nd painting for the day (see previous post)
I did most of this with a palette knife. A pretty sludgy outcome but it passes muster for the challenge - and for being a peach blossom.
Below are two other paintings of peach blossoms I did for the 30/30 challenge in September 2013. I far prefer the two below - they were both done with brushes.
Five more paintings to go until the challenge is complete. To see what others are painting in the challenge click here
Love the 3rd photo...all are beautiful though.
ReplyDeleteThe parrot in your last post is just gorgeous, very natural.
Thanks so much Margaret!
DeleteI agree with you, even though your new painting is pretty, I do prefer the last picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sami!
Deleteoh to be able to have a peach blossom to paint! glorious. they are all beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks Sally! I take SO many photos of it when it flowers. You can never have too much photo reference when it comes to flowering peach trees I think!
DeleteReally love the last picture, with the branch , showing the texture if the wood so well.
ReplyDeleteThe earlier blossoms are wonderful, but I love the new on as well. Maybe it is the contrast of the background. Your bloom just glows! (I Keep going back for another look)
ReplyDeleteI think they are all pretty in their own way.
ReplyDeleteDear Wendy -I do love both of your older peach blossoms but this one is just as lovely - a different approach with the palette knife gives it lots of beautiful texture. Wow - hard to believe there is only five more days. You will certainly finish now.
ReplyDeleteAlthough the previous ones are lovely I definitely like the new one best and it is because it is alive - I can see the structure of the flower painted with with beautiful vibrant color.
Gros bisous ♡
