Acrylic on Board 16cm x 16cm
This is the second palette knife abstract I did yesterday, which I prefer to the first. It reminds me of the cross-section of a rock. Not sure what type of rock, just one that I've laid eyes on over the years.
It was nice to be one painting ahead to allow for a day off today, but I'm looking forward to getting back to the brushes - or palette knife - tomorrow.
Like that one. I see several animals in it plus a rock.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret!
DeleteAnother beautiful one, Wendy. Are acrylics your favorite medium? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexandra. To be honest I prefer oils to acrylics but like being able to clean up in water with acrylics and it is less fumey.
DeleteHowever, I am an illustrator at heart and LOVE working in pen and watercolour - I just rarely post much of that side of things as this blog began as an adventure in acrylics.
granite, maybe? abstracts are good for the soul, huh?
ReplyDeleteOoh yes, I think you are right Sally about the granite.
DeleteYes, the first two were VERY good for the soul. The third day's attempt - not so much!
Nice one, Wendy!! You are really creative with these abstracts!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chris - you are too kind!
DeleteI love this one too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Loree!
DeleteThis one does look like the cross-section of a rock composed of different pieces of strata(?). Nice!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joan - I'm glad you thought so too!
DeleteThis one really appeals to me , love the colors and the movements, make me think of rough waters !
ReplyDeleteYes, I can see it too now that you mention it Jane. Thank you!
DeleteLOOKING GOOD!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep experimenting = )
Thanks so much Sue. Nice hearing this from you as you do so many lovely abstracts.
DeleteWendy - love the colors in this one. Title is perfect too. So fun to see what you are doing each day. Hugs!
