Day 7 - Molly

                                              Acrylic on board 15 x15cm (6" x 6")

I took a snap of my friend's lovely Staffie the other week. It wasn't a great shot as she was a bit too close to the camera, but I thought I'd see if I could make something of it. The perspective in the photo made it impossible to know how to paint her neck and upper body so I thought I'd leave it out altogether. Molly is such a sweet natured dog which shows in her face.

    She does look sweet! I have friends that have 2 Staffies and they are just loves. Everyone thinks they are miniature Pittbulls.

    Love 'Staffie!" At first I thought it was the dog's name. Didn't realize it was a breed of dog!
    Great job on the eyes especially! So good that I am still looking in them hoping to see your refection!

      Hi Michael,
      The full name of their breed is Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I'm glad you liked the way I painted her features. Haha, My reflection didn't quite make it into this painting!

    I love it, Wendy, but she does look a bit disembodied. Her sweet nature does come through, even more than in the photo!

      Thanks Lyn, yes I was a little concerned at her disembodied state but my friend loved it so I will probably leave it as it is for now.
      I really love your cat paintings - they are truly stunning!
