Acrylic on board 6" x 6"
I just wanted to do something bright and fun from my imagination. I did however paint the fork from life and I also got a few cachous out of the pantry to copy the shine on them.
Now to do some writing!
Thanks so much Celia! I enjoyed trying my hand at inventing the pattern but I found the acrylics rather gluggy for the detail. It made me think I would like to try a similar thing in watercolour where there is scope for much finer work. I admire the beautiful work you have been doing in watercolours.
Oh very scrummy Wendy. Very apt too as I'm about to do a cup cake as a birthday card for a friend. Love the colours and the detailing in the table cloth.
Thank you Laura, I hope you enjoy painting your cupcake birthday card - I hope you will post it as I'd love to see it. Cupcakes are such a timeless favourite - it's hard to imagine ever getting tired of them!
Good morning Mate! So glad you posted a photo of your cupcake painting! So good! Great skill! Much fun! Great art! Love the colors and the design! Now I am waiting to see the plate with just crumbs! Good luck with your writing! Take care Wendy! Michael
Thank you so much Michael for your wonderfully upbeat comments. That was the main drawback of painting from my imagination - there was nothing to eat at the end of it! Happy painting! Wendy
Excellent work, love the pattern in the background and the cup cake looks delicious ! Can you imagine , I had my first cup cake only 4 days ago....but it was love at first bite :-) xx
Thank you Jane! I'm fascinated to know how you went so many years before trying your first cupcake? Now that I think of it I don't recall seeing any when I visited Italy some years ago. I'm glad to hear that you loved it!
Hiya Wendy! Love your cupcake painting, it's fun and joyful...the tablecloth and the colours are all adding to this...the silver balls are very real looking too:) I am baking some cupcakes right now, they are choccy ones. yummy
Hi Sally, thanks for your lovely comments. Yum! are your chocolate cupcakes going to become the hero of your next painting? I imagine it would be hard for them to survive for long enough?
Hi Wendy, your cupcake looks delicious and festive! I love the background pattern, it highlights the cupcake beautifully.
