I scanned this picture and realise now that the scanner is probably only the best option for black and white sketches - it seems to wash out the colour somewhat compared to a photo.
Now that the challenge is over, I have no more excuses not to get stuck into writing and finishing off my book!
Congratulations Wendy!!! You are amazing, I enjoy following you through the challenge, I see you growing artistically every time! This last sketch is really beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Celia, you have been such a wonderful cheerleader over the duration and very much appreciated!
DeleteHooray Wendy - You did it. This final piece is beautiful. Now you can start to write again. Have a great day - hugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie I've appreciated each and every comment you have posted and all your good wishes have meant a lot to me.
DeleteLovely sketch Wendy, now time for a little relax I imagine...you have done beautifully !
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jane - I've really appreciated your enthusiasm during the challenge!
DeleteHi Wendy, Your work is wonderful and creative! Looking forward to following your blog!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comments Debi!
DeleteWendy it was fun to watch your drawings this month. I think I might use your idea in January, if you don't mind!?! :) Are those flowers that you drew today in bloom right now?
ReplyDeleteHi Shawna, I'd love to see your sketches in January!!
DeleteYes, these white iceberg roses are currently flowering. I attempted to paint them as pink instead. I wasn't overly happy with the outcome of this one I must admit. I was late pruning my roses so I felt terrible having to cut back some of the new growth to get it into shape - but they are very forgiving. All the Perth gardeners who were more diligent than I and pruned their roses by the first of August are now awash in stunning blooms!
Wendy, really great to go back and look at the whole collection of drawings for this 30 day Challenge. I am glad you did these instead of another set of paintings like last years. It really showed your skills and renewed passion for it.
ReplyDeleteFun!
Keep drawing...
Thanks David, I really felt I grew considerably by taking on something different, I can highly recommend the thrill of doing these quick spontaneous sketches. Happy painting!
DeleteYour drawings are a treat to the eyes! Each one is an exclusive piece of art! Congratulations on completing the 30 days challenge in grand manner!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting and commenting Asha, congratulations to you too for your challenge achievement!
DeleteLove this one, Wendy! Good luck with your writing and finishing up your book.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Hilje, I think I will need luck with my writing - It can be tricky changing gears from art to writing.
DeleteOkay buddy! Congratulations on finishing the challenge. And doing so very well at it! Love al the works you did! All have that wonderful 'Wendy Barrett" touch! Nice! I am going backwards on all the posts I missed! So prolific this month! Hard to keep up with you! Now the best of luck with your book. I imagine the writing process can be so different than painting or sketching? Hope the words come easy for you Mate! Hope all is well in your wonderful corner of the planet. Autumn is great in New England! Foliage colors are amazing.
ReplyDeleteTake care cobber!
Michael
Thanks so much for cheering me on Michael! Have been too busy to get back to my writing but hope to this coming week! I hope you're enjoying the fall!
