Work To Be Done - Day Six

My husband is currently doing some work on his motorbike. I should have waited until he had the seat and petrol tank cover back on. There were a lot more tricky bits to draw what with having all its innards on display. I badly misjudged the positioning on the paper and ran out of room to finish the second wheel. But I'm happy with it overall as it does look like a motorbike at least even if its not entirely anatomically correct.

You may have noticed by now that there is no theme going on for this challenge other than each piece being done in ink (so far!).

  1. Looks like a tricky drawing Wendy but you have the bike captured really well. A huge challenge on this month not just for those doing the painting but also for those of us trying to get around to seeing everything!

    1. Thanks so much Kaethe! I'm sure someone who knows about bike's innards would see that a lot of bits probably don't meet up too well with other bits. I used rather a lot of artistic license on this one!

    1. Thanks Sally! Yes, I ended up just sticking bits in "wherever" towards the end as I was going cross-eyed. How exciting for your husband to finally get his bike - what make is it? My husband is into Ducatis.

    1. Thanks Joan, I also got very lost in this one! It doesn't stand up to close mechanical scrutiny that's for sure!

  7. Impressive level of the detail. Before I read your post I thought you deliberately left out part of the front wheel as it makes the motorcycle look ready to zoom off.

    1. Thanks Zoya, I'm glad the half-finished front wheel looked premeditated, I just made the best of it when I realised that it wasn't going to fit.

    1. Thanks Michael! I must say that all my best laid plans for positioning my sketches on the page have often gone awry - this being the most ill-judged - but often I can crop the photo so it looks perfectly positioned. So I'm pleased this one ended up looking premeditated.
