Under Wraps - Day 13

I lifted up the dust cover on my husband's motorbike this evening to see if I felt inspired to sketch it. I did, but I only uncovered it a little to keep things simple.

This morning I popped back to the beach to take photos of the curious balls of seaweed I had seen down there yesterday. I have seen one here and there from time to time but never en mass like this. It was a bit like an art installation compliments of Mother Nature.

There were also a lot of crab holes with attendant claw prints from all their scuttling in and out.

The pigface was flowering prettily near the rocks.

  1. looks like a perfect Spring on the west coast of Oz. How bizarre those seaweed balls, I have never seen anything like it. Mother nature is always surprising us isn't she? Beautiful job on the sketch of the (uncovered)bike!

  2. Okay Mate! Your art challenge is a comment challenge for me! Trying to catch up with your wonderful posts! I am following you but need to make time to comment!
I so love this sketch of your husbands motor bike! Love that you left most of it covered! Also so love the reds, blacks, and orange! Great rendering of the bike but more important to me is that it is a great work of art! Bravo!!!
Also love, love the beach photos! I so love the ocean. Your photos of the seaweed are beautiful and so very interesting. Look so much like "pods" from movie "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers!!!" Classic old school science fiction horror movie. The original black and white version is the one to see! They certainly do look like a very modern artist's installation!
    Take care Wendy!
Keep on posting your wonderful art Wendy!

It's funny how you thought the balls of seaweed looked science fictioney - I had thought the same thing myself! I hope you have made a great start to your week!!
