Day 12 - In the Pink

I did this sketch last night so I would have today free to do other things. This is supposed to be a pink rose (hence the title) but it looks more orange of hue here. I drew it straight from the photo I took a few days back that I posted on my blog. I felt very in the pink today due to it being one of those impossibly, unsurpassingly perfect spring days. I spent some time at the beach and in the garden soaking up the sumptuous scents and scenery before getting on with my jobs.

  2. Sweet sketch, Wendy! Funny to think you're getting ready for Spring down there. Glad to see you're keeping up with the 30/30. At this point, I can't wait till it's over and swear, like all the other times, "Never Again!"

    1. Thanks Diane, I feel I have cut corners a little this time with the challenge as it has been FAR easier doing small sketches compared to an acrylic painting each day. But having said that, it still takes commitment and the feeling of achievement is still very high. You are creating fantastic works for your challenge!
Yes, it does take a bit to get your head around our opposite seasons. I'm particularly confused this year after having spent July in the UK and slipping in a month of summer into the middle of our winter.

    1. You are very kind Debbie! I'm just about to slip down to the beach again shortly - I spotted some very interesting seaweed down there yesterday and intend to take my camera with me this time. I hope you enjoy your autumn week-end - are the trees changing colour yet?

  4. Hi Wendy, I missed quite a few days but am all caught up. I went down to the last post I visited. I love all your drawings, they are beautiful!! I enjoy reading about your process and all the photographs you share. I love that you are adding watercolor but the line work is incredible as well. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks so much Celia, I don't really know what I'm doing with the watercolour, but having the ink-work in place before I add the colour seems to make it work somehow. Have you had a chance to do any art lately? I'm missing your lovely posts! Have a great weekend!
