I use disposable vegetable parchment palettes for my acrylic paintings and these are the ones I used in the 30 day challenge. They looked too pretty to throw out and I thought they would collectively make a nice work of art in themselves. I was waiting for a nice sunny day to peg them on to the clothesline en masse. It was rather windy but I got a few good shots amidst the buffeting.
I set myself a challenge to spend 10 hours this week working on my manuscript. I did over 11 hours and was pleased to fulfil the challenge considering how tired I was this week. I hope to do more writing hours next week and a small painting too!
For my blogger friends who have shown an interest in the area where I live, I found this short video promotion of Perth that you might find interesting.
Oh my goodness, you are such an inspiration! You take on one challenge after another and fulfill them admirably! I'm curious about the childrens books. Where do you print them?
ReplyDeleteThat is very kind of you to say so Katherine!
DeleteThe children's books were printed by a publisher in Melbourne in 2005. Around 50,000 copies have been sold to date. There are stocks still available but no new editions have been printed for a while now. They have been sold mainly in Australia and New Zealand and parts of Asia.
That's awesome, 50,000!
DeleteHi Wendy, what a great photo and nice idea to keep the tear off palettes! Good to hear you are writing again. Looking forward to see your new painting. Love the video of Perth, you live in a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hilje! Glad you enjoyed the video. I always feel torn between my writing and painting - and illustration (which has been very neglected of late). I did enough writing last week to break through the barrier that had built up again but now I feel a bit obsessed with it and fear I will spend all my time on that now and neglect the painting. So hard to get balance in not just my creative life, but life in general! Hope you had a great weekend. Will email very soon!
DeleteWendy, I love this idea! Your palettes look beautiful drying in the sun. They are works of art! I don't need any more convincing to visit Perth. Beautiful video and I am happy you are getting your writing done! Good day mate! :-)
ReplyDeleteG'day Celia, I'm glad you liked the palettes - it was fun hanging them out in the sunshine. I couldn't leave them out there too long as they were beginning to get blown to pieces! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Ciao!!
ReplyDeleteI want to come and live in Perth, looks like paradise on earth , I think you are so lucky ! Only a true artist could think of using the acrylic palette as a work of art , love the idea :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the palettes on the line Jane. I do feel very lucky to live here and am grateful to my ancestors for choosing to come to Australia. Some of the first to arrive were from Denmark in the late 1890s!
DeleteWonderful place you live in, Wendy. I'll be looking forward to your plein air work!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Diane for all the great plein air info you gave me on your blog! I really admire your style enormously!
DeleteIt's a treat communicating with a terrific artist on the other side of the world!
DeleteOkay Wendy!
